Transport

Domestic transport in the UK is responsible for about a quarter of the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions in addition to the air pollution caused by release of particulates etc. We all need to consider how we can reduce our contribution to this by reducing our personal mileage where possible, by greater use of public transport or more active travel (cycling/walking) for shorter journeys. We need to transition rapidly to the use of electric vehicles, charged by renewal energy, as new petrol or diesel vehicles will no longer be available from 2030.
